Fanshaw Gate Farm

This site is run by a lovely couple and has fantastic views over the South of Sheffield, from Totley, Dore, Bradway and down to the city centre. Just a few miles out of town but in a lovely rural setting , this is a perfect location to explore the Peak District, whilst being walking distance to the outskirts of Sheffield . Facilities on site are limited but adequate, with EHU, water and a chemical toilet disposal point . Pitches are on hard standing . We found our motor mover very handy for getting into position , but I’m sure a more accomplished caravanner would find it Ok. The gate to enter and exit the site is tight , but I didn’t have any trouble and I’m no expert driver . Having a second person to spot on the road is handy . Accessibility is otherwise very easy , off a quiet road with space to pass, off a main road . Fresh eggs are available from the owners . I’ve given 4 stars as it would be even better if it had a toilet/shower room , to reduce the frequency I needed to empty the cassette toilet, but I completely understand the reasons why the owners haven’t done this, and you get what you pay for . At £16 a night, it’s very good value.
