Chowdene Camping & Caravan Site

Was rather concerned about our visit after reading the latest review. However, nothing to worry about Nice quiet CL, friendly owner. Grass cut short.! Mostly full all weekend. York races and BH weekend. £30 per night which is much cheaper than most other places around York. One toilet and shower room which was simple but practical. A chair for clothes would have been useful. Grey and fresh water sites fine. Toilet emptying was rather basic and needed a bucket of water to dispose of the waste properly. 10-12 mins walk to Monks Cross Park & Ride and retail park with shops and supermarkets etc. Bus £3.90 for adult day return into the city. Quick and easy. Walk is a 35-40 mins flat route. Overall a great stop and would definitely use it again over the usual expensive sites in York.

🚐 We had a lovely stay at Chowdene Camping and Caravan site, a @CandMClub Certified Location just outside of York. 🌳 The site offers fairly flat gravel pitches with generous grass sections between each pitch, and each has an electric hook up. 💡 Fresh water, black and grey waste (not drive over) are available, along with a toilet and shower. 🚿 Our 8m motorhome had easy access, and while there was a bit of road noise during the day, it was very quiet at night. 🛌 The location is perfect for visiting the City of York, with only a 10-minute walk to the Monk Cross Park and Ride, getting you into the city within 15 minutes for just £5.50 with a Family All York Day bus pass. 🚌 the site is also located close to a number of supermarkets.🛒 Highly recommend this very reasonably priced site if you're thinking of visiting York.
