Pithead Campsite

Very simple campsite with little to offer. Besides the noisy highway nearby you will be woken up by airplanes starting at the nearby Exeter airport. The facilities are very rudimentary and it’s hard to place your towel or necessities, because of the dirty toilets, sink etc. We were glad to take off from this „campsite“, barley doing the minimum morning toilet… 20 Pounds for a couple are ridiculous for what is offered from the staff/owners. Better look for a better campsite.

inside the the tent was clean . on the floor there bits of carpet overlapping and uneven ground not the best outside of the tent needs a clean. Pictures show a wild floor meadow with paths cut out it was nothing like this just paths cut in normal grass not a wild flower in sight. Toilets were not so clean but didn't smell. The big problem is the out door shower the only shower it was disgusting looked like it had never been cleaned and to get to it you had to walk through hundreds of fly's and wasps not fit for humans. as a result we stayed 1 night and left. Raised my concerns with the hosts they read the messages and don't respond. as a result put in a claim for 1 night refund airBnB phone me and tried to get me a refund from them but they would not. Since Airbnb then selfs have refund me the night. I would avoid this place mainly cause of the showers but from my experience the hosts are not bothered about any concerns they will respond quickly when you want to book
