Hengrove Park Leisure Centre

I have been a member for six years, and used to enjoy the 50m swim. In the past 2 months the slow lane has been narrowed to the point that people are getting hit when passing each other. I wrote to ask why these changes had happened, and to let them know that this was not safe. I have received emails where staff have blatantly lied about the consultation process - members were not consulted about these changes as part of the review. The swimming clubs take precedence. Speaking to anyone at all is like talking to the wall. This place has gone down hill as it is very poorly managed, staff are indifferent to members paying over £400 a year. Do better for your members Hengrove.

The coaches at Hengrove Park Leisure Centre are really quite lucky. Working for a government-run organisation seems to have made them complacent—they don’t put much effort into teaching and just seem to take it easy. Whether it’s the fitness trainers or the swimming instructors, they tend to favour their friends or personal contacts and are very careless with everyone else, almost as if they’re running free trials or tests. They often avoid answering questions, which I’ve seen multiple times. The prices aren’t exactly cheap, so just because the location is convenient, they shouldn’t run the place so sloppily.
