BLOCK Gym

I have been a member of BLOCK Gym for around nine months now, and I can honestly say that joining up was one of the best decisions I made upon moving to Plymouth. The gym itself has a good range of machines/equipment, and although it is not a large gym (compared to some other franchises) I find that it is never overcrowded. It is kept very clean and tidy both inside the gym and in the changing areas/shower facilities. There is a very friendly atmosphere from the staff to the clientele, which (as someone joining a gym for the first time) I found incredibly welcoming and has kept me coming back multiple times a week. I would implore anyone signing up to opt for a membership that includes studio classes as there are options such as yoga (varying proficiencies), pilates, and more that are worth trying and offer value for money if you attend weekly. The 30 minute Small Group Training (SGTs) that run multiple times a day are an excellent gateway into general gym exercises: a quick shoutout to Ben, Poppy, and the rest of the team for making these a pleasure to do. Most members of the staff are qualified Personal Trainers, so if this is something you'd be interested in there is also the opportunity to hire them while still using the gym itself as a venue to train. Finally, I couldn't leave a review without mentioning the location itself; BLOCK Gym is in the middle of the Royal William Yard area, which is an upmarket suburb of the city filled with nice cafes/bars/restaurants and flats. Being a member of the gym will allow you to park here for free during your visit (remember to enter your car registration when you enter and every 60-90 mins or so thereafter) which also means you can treat yourself to a much deserved drink or bite to eat after a workout. I couldn't recommend more highly.
