Bannatyne Health Club and Spa

Booked a spa package with my partner which included a 35 minute treatment, use of the spa facilities and lunch. The venue was nice, I was a little put off after looking at the reviews but as long as you know it’s a club not a spa then the price is a little more justified. The ladies who did our massages were perfect and very professional and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The massage rooms are near a gym so there is constant banging and cluttering. The pool and facilities were okay, again definitely not a spa experience though - when we arrived there was a class happening in the pool which luckily ended in time for after our massage, hopefully that was booked and planned according to the spa booking. We booked with lunch as well, but we most definitely lost money by booking with lunch instead of paying there. It was an extra £25 we paid for lunch and we did not get that value, lunch wasn’t the best but the guy behind the counter was nice! 3/5 because the massage was really nice but would only come back for the massages, spa experiences are meant to be relaxing, we couldn’t even paddle around in the pool as it was all lane swimming and if you don’t move you’d get disapproving looks and tuts from club members. Just a bit disappointed because £115 is quite a lot of money for a mid experience :(

I’m a member here and it’s so disappointing for the money it costs. There’s usually something broken, whether it’s the steam room or showers are cold. The women’s showers need cleaning more often, there’s always clumps of hair on the floor. Most the staff are lovely but some choose to announce over the speaker the closing time of the spa so many times in the last hour, it’s so unnecessary and ruins the relaxation. Then they come into the changing rooms demanding we leave, claiming the club closes at 8.55pm sharp - when it clearly says 9pm on google. I understand they want to leave on time and don’t want to do unpaid overtime but maybe they should be rota’d on and paid for 15mins longer because it’s clearly not working for them nor the guests and it’s not ok to be kicking out guests early who spend their hard earned money on these facilities. I could go on but I’m boring myself :)
