The gym is truly terrible. It's always filthy; covered in spiderwebs, dust, and chalk. Nobody has any incentive to clean their equipment after use because it's so dirty already. At least one of the (extremely limited) cardio machines is perpetually broken. The glass in front of the squat racks has been shattered for months. Most of the equipment is in absolutely awful condition, including the ragged bar pads and rusted cable machine attachments. Last week I went for a workout and there was an enormous shard of glass in front of the rack (see photo). Unbelievable health and safety violation. When I reported it to the front desk the woman seemed totally unconcerned and unapologetic. Today in the women's changing rooms I watched a receptionist use the bathroom and return to the front desk without washing her hands. I genuinely can't believe the university lets this place operate in this condition. The price you pay for what you get is extortionate. I'm gutted that this is the only gym within cycling distance of my house. The only upside is the personal trainer, Paul, who is always cheerful and happy for a chat.

With their membership, I could access all the facilities including gym, workout sessions, badminton and swimming. They have several slots available for booking, however, it's recommended to book well in advance of a week so as to book as per your choice. Generally workout sessions get filled in quite rapidly. They have a small cafe inside which is good for coffee and some tid bits.
