ibis budget Southampton Centre

Second time staying at this great budget location. Not sure how much you miss out on with this versus the full price version. We did not have a kettle, coffee maker, or safe. Bath towels but no hand towels. No USB outlets or outlets by the bed. If you can live without these things, then this is a great deal. The place is clean and modern and well maintained. Nice firm bed. Housekeeping does a great job here. There were no issues with the room. The location is optimal for the Horizon cruise terminal across the street, and a 10-minute walk. However, it's further away for the other ones. Still, it's only a 20-minute walk to the Ocean cruise terminal. No breakfast included unless you've paid for it. However, there is a microwave. Coffee is extra in the eating kitchen area. The common lounge/ dining area seems to be open all the time. Staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating, especially if you're just as nice to them. The location is actually great considering it's an easy walk from the bus depot, central train station, and the cruise ship terminals. The main downside I would say is the noisy McDonald's ventilation system just outside. You can't sleep with the window open and even with it closed you'll hear it.

Easy checking and satisfactory room for one night. Polite staff. Noises did wake me in the early hours - I couldn't tell if this was the lift going up & down or the room above me using their shower and toilet, but it resulted in lost sleep.
