Budget seafront hotel. Delivers what you should expect from a budget seafront hotel in an old building, but with room for improvement. The photos clearly show the standard of accommodation. Breakfast is basic, not worth paying the £12.50 unless it’s included in your rate. Staff are very good. The major negatives to be aware of (some of which management could fix!): No in-room safe. No air-con – my room was unbearably hot even with the windows open in November. Poor shower pressure. As with some older properties, the floors are squeaky and not level, with poor noise isolation overall. Higher-tier Marriott Bonvoy members should NOT expect to receive a good room upgrade – as a top-tier Bonvoy member, I was given one of the smallest rooms without a view, when many better rooms were available. Note for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members that stays at Four Points Flex: (1) earn only ONE Elite night credit for every two nights stayed (2) earn HALF the number of Bonvoy points compared to the majority of other Marriott brands P.s. Note that this was previously the The King’s Hotel until July 2025.
