I visited the LivingWell Health Club at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole and had a really good experience. The gym is well equipped with everything you need for a solid workout, from cardio machines to a decent range of weights. It is not the biggest gym in the world, but it is well maintained and never felt overcrowded. The pool area was the highlight for me. The swimming pool is a comfortable size for proper laps, and the water was pleasantly warm. The sauna and steam room were both clean, relaxing, and exactly what you want after a long day — a proper little escape. Overall, the facilities are well looked after and offer good value. A great spot if you want a workout followed by a bit of relaxation. I left feeling refreshed and would happily return.

I booked a last minute trip down to Brighton for a 2 night stay in August with my 2 teenage children. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with how nice and clean this hotel was for it being an "old" hotel. Our room was clean, bright and spacious with a lovely seaview and huge balcony. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My son was even comfortable on the pull out bed which can be hit-or-miss in some hotels. The bathroom was a little odd-the layout was strange and the shower was tiny for how big the room and bathroom were. It also didn't have a very luxurious feel to it, although it was fine. The location was perfect for us for walking around to the pier, shops, and restaurants we wanted to go to. We were impressed by the lobby and hallways with the tall ceilings and chandeliers and giant staircase. We really felt like we were in a fancy historic hotel. We enjoyed skipping the lift and walking up and down the main staircase instead. Breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular although the dining room was very grand and pretty. We checked out the pool and gym. Although it seemed great and fully equipped with everything we may have wanted to use, we ultimately did not choose to use it because it felt a little stuffy being down in the basement level. Overall a great experience and would stay here again if we want a seaside escape from London!
