Not a good experience at all with cloud student homes. I applied for accommodation here and first impressions were not good. Cobwebs and insects in the corner of the bedroom and a mattress so springy and uncomfortable. The keycard to my room didn’t even work on my first night there. On my 2nd day there I was just chilling on my bed when some worker just opened my door. I mean what if I was just getting out the shower or changing. It is so unacceptable! When he opened the door (literally wide open!) he said, “oh sorry” and I said, “are you here to fix my keycard for my room” he said “yes” and shut the door and just left and didn’t do anything. Regardless of whether him opening the door was a mistake or not, it is not ok for an unauthorised entry into my room to occur. Especially when I’m paying 7k for it. And in my section, all the rooms that were clearly unoccupied had their doors fully open and the beds up (as they are storage beds that can be lifted). And my room is right at the end and one room opposite me and one room next to me the doors were fully shut clearly indicating they were occupied so it was quite silly for someone to walk past many unoccupied rooms and used a keycard to open it with no knock or anything. I told my mum about this, and she was not happy at all as well and she wanted me to leave straight away after this incident had happened. After re-reading the contract again it was a clear breach when the guy opened my door without prior, written notice therefore, we should have the tenancy cancelled and not be liable for rent. As firstly why am I going to pay rent for a place that does things like that and clearly doesn’t clean the room before a new tenant moves in. We spoke to the property manager who was helpful, and she said to me and mum that the tenancy would be cancelled. That was all ok initially, but they have been trying to take the rent from me which I should not have to pay, so I went back telling them that I have received notifications about rent and then the property manager said to me that you still must pay rent until a replacement tenant is found. This is understandable if I was just no longer wanting to stay there. However, due to what happened it should not make me have to find a replacement and still pay rent. The tenancy should just be cancelled and that’s that. Overall, I wouldn’t sign a contract here, Just Don’t Do It! The reviews on their page are already bad I’m only adding fuel to the fire.

A lot to say about this place. The fact this accommodation had a 2.6 rating a few weeks ago and it’s suddenly jumped to 3.8 is telling, despite there being only one 5 star review in this timeframe. The only good things about this place are its prices and ok room size. The cons, there’s a lot of cons. Trying to communicate with Cloud student homes is like trying to talk to a ghost. They respond to emails incredibly slow and they won’t even pick up the phone. Upon arriving in my room, the floor was dirty, the toilet had human waste in it and on the toilet seat. The drawers still had food inside and dust was everywhere. When I questioned the manager she told me I should have booked an appointment of arrival so it could be cleaned properly. Even though I did book an appointment scheduled 2 hours before I actually got into my room. For the next 2 weeks my cluster didn’t have a microwave for 2 whole weeks. For 5 days, the building didn’t have running hot water. For nearly 2 days there wasn’t any working WiFi. As I write now the WiFi isn’t working and even if it does, sometimes it’s slow to the point my phone will connect to mobile data instead. I also had to wait 2 weeks for my cluster’s stove to be replaced and the cleaners barely do any work in the kitchen. I’d like to be generous but there’s far too many issues to be ignored and my experience going by the other reviews isn’t unique either. I would advise living at this accommodation unless you need to save money. God bless.
