Pathetic gym ever and so many crazy rules which I never heard anywhere in the world Crazy 1 - you have to give cancellation 90 days in advance. Seriously ? Bs Crazy 2 - u will get only 3 guest pass for your membership Crazy 3 - it’s just wet everywhere in dressing room which is disgusting Crazy 4 - having this expensive membership fee but space is very limited and many equipments are missing - if you charge that much membership for your gym then you should understand that it should have everything for all type of guest. Crazy 5 - Towel is extra 19. Only available pricing option is 65 and 77. Equipments are very limited and the wifi sucks. Pure gym and gym group are have such a big space and have most of the equipment and the price is just 1/3 of this gym. This gym space is such congested and very small and not even 1/2 of pure gym or gym group. I have seen Nuffield also expensive but atleast the space and hygiene is maintained well there for the price they charge. Such a high price for poorly maintained place and facility. I highly recommend people not to waste their time in even checking out this place. This business should never be tolerated.

Edinburgh Village Gym – Terrible Experience This gym has been an absolute nightmare. First of all, the hygiene and maintenance standards are beyond unacceptable. The sauna and the pool are filthy. I have lost count of how many times I raised these issues with the staff. There are six showers in the men’s changing room. Between March 2025 and July 2025 (a full four months), I repeatedly informed the staff that only two of these showers were usable. One shower had no door at all, meaning zero privacy. Another had a door, but the lock was broken, making it unusable because people constantly walked in. One shower had no water running whatsoever, and another had only cold water with no hot water at all. Out of six showers, only two were actually functional with intact doors. I clearly remember having to wait around 25 minutes just to take a shower because of a long queue in front of those two doors. Due to these ongoing issues, I decided to terminate my contract. On the day I signed up, I had clearly explained that I am a PhD student at a Faculty of Law, that I frequently attend international conferences and have intense academic periods, and that I would only sign up if there was no commitment, no notice period, and flexible freeze or termination options. I was explicitly told by the staff that the student deal was exactly what I was looking for: more affordable, with no notice required for freeze or termination. Based on this assurance, I chose Edinburgh Village Gym over PureGym, even though it is closer to my home. Despite this, after terminating my contract four weeks ago, I have been harassed daily with threatening and intimidating emails, claiming that there is a three-month notice period and that I must continue paying for at least three more months. As if the stress of a PhD is not enough, I am now being forced to deal with this absurd and exhausting situation. I have already informed the University of Edinburgh School of Law Legal Services and Wellbeing Services, and we will escalate this matter to the relevant authorities as soon as possible. My final word is this: do not make the mistake of signing up to this gym. Stay away.
