I was a member of the University of Glasgow Sports Centre for about two years, and looking back, I genuinely appreciate how lucky we were to train there. While there were areas that could use refurbishment – such as the male changing rooms on the 3rd floor and occasional issues with the sauna and steam room – the overall offering was nothing short of world class. The gym featured ELEIKO plates, proper strength training equipment, and an incredible 14 or so squat platforms. Yes – that many, and all of them from ESP. That alone puts it far above most commercial gyms. And all of this was available at a fraction of the price you'd pay elsewhere. In London or the surrounding areas, you'd need to shell out around £250 per month at a place like David Lloyd to get access to similar facilities – if you can find them at all. So to any students, staff, or members of the public currently training there: make the most of it. The University of Glasgow Sports Centre is a serious facility, and you may not realise how special it is until you move away.

I’m really disappointed. There was no prior notice from anyone, whether by email or messages, informing of the swimming pool and sauna opening times. I’ve had at least five experiences that I couldn’t properly use the pool because of so-called club activities, despite paying the same membership fee🥶. It’s ridiculous that I only found out about the schedule after asking at the front desk, who said it’s shown in the app. But what about people who don’t know? Just rely on luck?
