My experience was not as I had hoped, could not get the app to work to get in and had to ask the person to letter me through. No one showed me were thinks were IE the gym the pool and was not told that you needed a padlock for the locker. There was no one there to show me the proper way to use the machines, had to ask some one were the pool was, the pool and the facilities were nice and clean, I was told I need to bring a towel as I was not a member.

We are so disappointed with how we have been treated over the past 3 years with feedback via the app (always asked for when you have been) has been ignored. The gym has massively gone downhill since we joined. There are so many issues that it feels like staff and management just don't care - the latest example is the price hike they are implementing. We have made attempts to contact someone about cancelling our membership be it on the phone, via emails, on the Live chat, and speaking to Susie the deputy manager in person. We haven't had any communication from anyone - Membership team or management. The biggest issue this past year was the broken air con through the summer. The fans used in the interim were not enough, and some members would move them so they would get all the cool air. The gym is a mess on opening in the morning - weights all over the place and not put away from the night before. Again issues that were raised directly to the manager and nothing done about it. The landmine bar was missing for months, equipment goes broken for longer than acceptable before its replaced, there is no towel bin in the gym changing room so dirty towels are left in lockers and on chairs/benches (if patrons are too lazy to take them back up to reception), gym equipment has gaffer tape over it for temporary fixes. Then upstairs, it just continues so much so we stopped using some of the facilities - the swimming pool stinks of sewage, only 1 changing cubicle in the changing room so people have been forced to change in the toilets. Then there's the cafe - constantly waiting over 20 mins for just a coffee, that's after waiting a while to get served. The area can also be very overwhelming for people who are Neurodivergent with noise sensitivity at times, especially when there is a promotion of DL Kids programme, new classes, products, charity stall etc, even worse when there is loud music playing by the seating area which isn't often but the events aren't thought through properly to be inclusive for all members. If you are a part of any other membership schemes ie Costa, you get a discount or freebie for your birthday - and they don't charge for membership. At DL, you go through the embarrassment of not being able to go through the barrier until the reception wishes you a happy birthday. That's it. As nice as it is, a free drink, cafe discount or something similar would be even more appreciated - especially when we pay £181 per month! So, from now we are cancelling our direct debit, I'd rather get all of the same for £25 a month because then I would be getting what I pay for. It's obvious the management do not care about the clients, even us with Platinum membership. Save your money and go elsewhere.
