Loughshore Caravan Park

Pros: Good location for ferry on main route, easy access and easy to find. Facilities were clean and showers were good with lots of hot water. Pitches were hardstanding. Cons: Main gate was open on arrival despite being issued with a pass code and strict instruction not to share the code? There is no security on site so I raised this with the cafe staff member who said gates would be closed when they left at 5pm as their cars were parked in there. Gates still left open after they left. I called an emergency no at 7.30pm to advise same as I had read a previous review about Travellers previously arriving on site and the site being open to anyone was a concern. I was advised that someone would be contacted and they would come to check and close the gates. No one bothered to come to site, gates were open all night so no security at all. No point in issuing a barrier code if gates are not closed anyway other than to use showers/toilet so we could have just turned up without paying, parked up, used our own facilities and had a free night. Not great.

Small caravan park, not the best view and if you are noise sensitive then you may notice the road noise. Good walks along the sea and you can go into Belfast easily by foot. Showers and toilet block, water and laundry facilities (extra) facility to empty own toilet. Showers the best I have had nice and powerful and hot!
