Ballyleese Town and Country Caravan Park (Portstewart Holiday Parks)

Great caravan site. Many static caravans but with touring pitches available. Toilets & washing facilities available & spotless. Self service laundry room available. Small play park for kids. Dog friendly, but must be on leads & cleaned up after. Peaceful rural situation, stunning sunsets (weather permitting). Out of town & a rural setting. Bridal path walk close by. Tesco shop, garage, good chip shop & off licence are all within 5 minutes drive. Portstewart strand no more than 10 minutes drive away, 20-30 min walk. Very well run & maintained site. Owner & staff are all very friendly.

We stayed for one night here and unfortunately I didn’t think it was outstanding as previously rated. The bathrooms are dated and although they do the job, there’s no heating or dry area to step onto after having a shower. The floors needed a good clean. The camp ground for campers/caravans is an open paddock with a circular layout. There is no privacy and could do with some hedging or partitions. All sites had power and outlets for grey and chemical toilet which was a bonus. Wifi is extra and you need to sign up to a plan so we didn’t use it. The playground has a slide, swings and two rockers with soft play surface which was fine for the kids. I couldn’t find the door for the playroom (it wasn’t sign posted). I did meet one of the owners and she was very friendly and attentive when my shower flooded with a blocked drain. I think it’s only fair to rate this park as OK 3/5 based on all of the other parks I have stayed in. It wasn’t outstanding From my experience.
