Aldershot Lido

Awful place. A very bad experience from start to finish. I took my children who were excited to spend a few hours there and we end up leaving in 15 minutes. Very run down place and hygiene is not great. The pool is filled with trees leaves and ants. They didn’t allow my 7 and halt year to go on the blue slide saying the rule is 8+ while most water parks around the world look the height as this safer and staff can verify. I saw other children who were much younger and when asked the staff they said we appreciate you didn’t lie like others. I didn’t come across any of these rules prior on the website which meant I wasted time and money going there. It was around 14:30 and all the sudden they shut the doors to the slides with no notice displayed or anything explained. Steer away. Not worth a penny. I would give it 0 star.

This is a huge outdoor, unheated pool. Sections of the pool, which is an irregular shape, are divided into slides/splash area, an area for families, and a section for lane swimming. The outdoor pool is part of a leisure centre with indoor pool, but access to the outdoor pool is separate to the leisure centre and can be reached via the car park. Plenty of free parking. We went for an early morning lane swim - there were only 4 of us in the pool, so plenty of space and the local/regular swimmers made us feel really welcome (even giving us 'Friends of Aldershot Lido' swimming caps, which were a lovely souvenir of our visit). The laned section of the pool is about 25-30m & fairly deep. Pool is well maintained and lovely to see the traditional fountain in operation. Changing facilities are basic but clean & clean toilets and hot showers. Lockers available poolside, but bring padlock. Overall we really enjoyed our visit 😊
