I recently joined after being a member at PureGym, JD and Empowered, so I’ve got plenty to compare it to. This gym is quite compact, but the changing facilities are genuinely premium — far better than anything you’ll find in the other local gyms. Everything feels brand new, spotless and well maintained, which gives a great first impression. There’s a good range of machines for its size, though nowhere near the amount or variety that Empowered offers. There are only a few lifting platforms and just one dedicated bench press, with a couple of Smith machines to make up for it. If your goal is powerlifting or heavy compound training, this probably isn’t the gym for you — they don’t have the thicker bars for deadlifting, and the overall setup is more suited to general fitness than strength work. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable, and the atmosphere is calm and comfortable. It feels more like a co-op gym, whereas places like PureGym and JD are more like big supermarkets — busier, louder, and less personal. Here everything’s a bit simpler, cleaner and more relaxed, which many people will appreciate. One small issue I noticed is that the weight plates are very polished and a bit slippery, so be careful when moving them. It could also feel a little cramped if it gets busy, simply due to the layout. Overall, I’d describe it as a great gym for beginners or casual lifters — kind of a “lite version” of a hardcore gym. It’s modern, friendly, in a great location, and everything feels new and well looked after.
