Staff at voco Manchester City Centre were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The Brazilian staff member at the front desk was especially kind and patient, helping us sort out a reservation that was missing a night without ever making us feel rushed. The room itself was great – very clean, stylish, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable and cozy on a cold, rainy English evening. The lobby and restaurant/bar area are new and modern, with a HUGE TV (seriously huge!) and amphitheater-style seating opposite so a big group can watch the football together with drinks. Very clever setup – I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. Breakfast was excellent, what I would absolutely call a full English: nice fat sausages, beans, eggs, cottage potatoes, tomatoes, and a full array of accompaniments. Miam miam! Having just spent five months in France, I skipped the baked goods this time, but everything looked very tempting. All in all, a wonderful, cozy, restful night, a spotless bathroom with a shower I was actually happy to step into, and a bountiful breakfast with both hearty and fresh options. This is definitely my place to stay for future visits to Manchester!
