You pay for location here, and it is undeniably brilliant. It’s also exceptionally clean. I usually stay at the Premier Inn on City Rd and to be honest- I do wish I had this time round. Weirdest experience, I’ve never been to a hotel not providing hand soap in the bathroom. I requested it, twice, and got a mug with some of the peppery smelling shower gel stuff in it left for me by reception. Browsing previous reviews, it seems like this hotel just doesn’t bother with soap. Ladies on the front desk were lovely but please just be honest that this place doesn’t bother with providing guests hand soap- that way I could have popped to home bargains nearby.

Rooms are ok, cleanish and compact., ok for a 1 night stay. Handwash dispenser was empty in all 3 rooms we booked. Lack of toilet paper so bring your own. Pillows are awful, loud music from popcorn till 2am, woken by other guests at 4am and then woken again by brewery delivery at 5.45am. Would I return?, No. but to be fair you get what you pay for, reception staff lovely
