Thornleigh Park Farm

Peaceful little site with large pitches a couple of miles out of Chester. A 15 minute flat bike ride along the nearby river Dee pathway or a £9 taxi into the city centre. Facilities very old school but clean. No welcome hello or goodbye as this is a working farm I guess. Tokens needed for the shower (£1) and 20p needed for hot water to do the dishes. This was very annoying, it would be so much easier for the owners to charge an extra £1 so people don’t have to try and find them half dressed on a busy working farm !!

Although you need to be a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, it’s worth joining if only to stay here. The site (home to many horses) is secure with a huge automated gate at the drives end. The pitches are fairly flat and a good size. £23 per night includes electricity. Showers and toilets are available although there is a small fee for the former. But the proximity to Chester must be the draw. What a great place to visit and its easily done by bike alongside the river. We will return
