Student Roost - The Towpath

It’s a great location in terms of being close to the city centre. Great way to meet other students. Good study area and communal spaces with a pool table, games, vending machine etc. lovely canal view. There is only approx 6 washing machines and dryers to share between hundreds of people. Living here was a horrible experience. Some staff were lovely and helpful. Other staff were horribly rude and unhelpful. The prices were extortionate and continually rising year on year. I had problems with contracts not being sorted properly and being scammed out of thousands due to no one communicating with each other. Them constantly changing management allowed them to get away with it because they know it’s not easy for students to find somewhere to go mid term. Constant gaslighting by the staff. I would recommend anyone staying here to ensure they get absolutely anything they communicate with you in writing or they will lie about it. Don’t allow maintenance issues to go unresolved because you’re paying a lot of money for that service. My living conditions were poor and instead of being understood I was blamed and gaslighted. Problems would take months to be resolved with poor communication. Wouldn’t recommend it but it’s a great place location wise so just be wary.

Very rude staff! They charge us extortionate prices even though there’s constant issues such as no running water, no hot water, heating issues, poor wifi. When I moved in, my kitchen wasn’t clean! It still had stuff from the previous …
