Get into bed, pull the covers...a massive bloom of dust comes out, paid for 2 nights, they have not record of it,charged us AGAIN..so they had to refund (as an apology was provided a 1 drink,1 snack -packet of Crisps and J20. I bet and free parking - the only thing worth it).Email received on the Friday, advising that their MAY be an issue with the Heating...it wasn't working (weekend of Storm Claudia)..then the next day,try to have a shower... nothing but cold water and the advice from Reception "Have you tried running the water it should warm up!!"..but this had been tried for nearly 5 mins...then came the admission of "Well we had someone looking at it earlier so it should have been fixed!"....final and most annoying part is trying to get the refund...they REFUSED saying we need to go via Booking.Com (we all know how useless their customer service is),only refunded the Virtual card .... calamity from start to finish.Been to 3 star hotels in Zambia and Tanzania that were MILES better than this!Still waiting for the refund!

Absolutely shocking stay at this hotel. The room rate was circa £350 for one night in a twin room (presumably inflated as the Labour conference is in the City). The air conditioning AND heating system across the hotel is broken so there is none. The rooms and public areas are cold and we weren't the only ones to complain about this. None of the lamps or side lights in room 30 work, so we could barely see what we were doing. At 5:30 am there was no hot water for a bath and we were told this was because "everyone is using it" (at 5:30 am?!) The service is intermittent, slow and lackadaisical ("I forgot to bring you steak knives. Oh dear, never mind.") but everyone is beautifully friendly, as Liverpudlians are. Don't order steaks - the chef has no idea. We ordered medium and medium-rare and they both came very rare. We sent one back for an extra grilling (once we finally found a member of staff) and it arrived back with us not really any better. We gave up waiting for dessert and cut our losses. On checking out when asked about our stay we reported all this (again) and the response was "oh dear, sorry about that). My advice to you - If you can stay somewhere else, you're probably best advised to do that.
