Having just read the reviews posted in the last 2 weeks which focus on hygiene / mens changing rooms with remarkably similar comments (hit job?) I feel compelled to give my opinions. I've used this venue for over 5 years now, successfully completing over 800 substantial workouts all at the busiest times of day (up to full body workouts usually of 2.5 hours plus) and always change before / shower afterwards in the aforementioned changing rooms. I would disagree with almost every comment made (c.95%+) in these reviews and invite those responsible for making them to join me for a workout where we can discuss politely as fellow users the demands of keeping this venue up to the very high standards set whilst accommodating a weekly throughput of users that likely runs into several thousands. This is somewhere that a very broad diverse group of people go to sweat, elevate their heart rates, raise their respiratory levels and thus improve their health and well-being. This can be a very unhygienic process, especially for men. It's also amazing value for money, and all the staff team (including the management) work tirelessly to keep the entire facility and equipment (thousands of items from single disc weights to complex electro-mechanical machinery and hundreds of lockers) in usable order. If your expectations are of standards equivalent to the Talise Spa at The Burj Al Arab it isn't going to happen !!! There are also a very small number who go expecting to massively boost their physical attributes with minimal effort then look for any possible excuses for their meagre (if any) gainz. Not that I'm saying this is the case here........ I had successful surgery 2.5 years ago following a traffic collision to remove a cancerous lesion from my skull following a blunt trauma brain injury. Once able to train again I much preferred using the fantastic fully controllable shower facilities at this gym to support my ongoing recovery (and still do) as I have every faith in their entire cleaning regime. Yes the mens changing rooms very occasionally smell but nowhere near as bad as stated and mostly because some men very occasionally smell (and can be unhygienic). This is gym life / manhood innit. Perhaps some people should stop playing the whinging complaining moaning victim card and start knuckling down to some serious gym based exercise whilst accepting the short term sweatiness that accompanies it. Not that I'm saying this is the case here........

This gym is an absolute nightmare when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness. The men’s toilets and changing rooms are revolting, often filled with an unbearable stench that makes you question the cleaning schedule, if there even is one. It’s shocking how many people use the facilities and then walk right out without washing their hands, spreading who knows what across every surface. The weights area, especially during busy times, becomes a hotspot for sweat, grime, and complete disregard for shared equipment. There’s a general sense that hygiene is an afterthought for many of the members, and it shows in the condition of the place. I even came across a review describing someone leaving faeces on gym equipment, which honestly doesn’t feel too far-fetched after what I’ve seen. If you’re even slightly concerned about catching something or being in a space that respects cleanliness and community, avoid this gym entirely
