Recent visitor feedback highlights cleanliness, helpful staff. Overall rating: 3.9 stars.
The leisure club has really gone downhill over the past few years. I used to regularly attend this gym about five years ago, but I rejoined a couple of months back, and while there is new equipment in the gym, the pool, sauna, and changing facilities have dropped well below par. The changing rooms are often dirty, partly due to the mess left by visitors, but mostly because of grime and dirt that simply isn't cleaned up. They really need a deep clean, regular cleaning, and a bit of a refresh. The lockers are often blocked off, likely because people put in combinations and then leave them locked. I'm not sure how often these are checked, but I doubt they're locked by different people daily. The showers have mould around the edges. The steam room is the area of biggest concern. There is visible black mould on the grouting throughout the steam room, and tiles are missing from the seat. This is particularly worrying as you're breathing in steam mixed with whatever is growing there. If that's what’s visible to people, what's going on behind the scenes? The pool is often checked by staff in the evening, but the cleanliness overall still raises questions. The day staff seem friendly, but the night staff often appear to be working alone and must have a lot of tasks that one person simply can’t manage. Cleaning should not be their responsibility.

Great little club. Machines are outdated with a few staying out of order. Pool is lovely but difficult to do lengths if anyone is in not wanting to swim but that's to be expected with hotel guests. Sauna and steam room are fabulous. Jacuzzi isn't up to much! Showers stay on for long enough to wash one arm pit but other than that....tidy, clean and never overcrowded.
