The gym is a decent size, classes and instructors are great (although watch out as some classes you still have to pay, depending on your membership and everyone has to pay for reformer Pilates regardless of your tier). The club also has modern equipment however, the price just doesn’t match what’s on offer. The air-con seldom works, lots of equipment is at the time of writing out of order, water fountains are luke-warm instead of cold and the car park is a complete nightmare. David Lloyd unfortunately does everything it can to exploit money out of its customers - I was on a platinum membership (which I didn’t need) but was told to reduce a tier I’d have to pay more. That in itself goes to show how wild the payment system is. I also know the tier below don’t get towels (unless they pay) despite any newer joiners paying more than me. I paid £160 a month, so for someone to be paying more than that and not get a towel is pretty disgusting. For the price point everything should always be outstanding, and it just isn’t. I also paid for a PT as part of my wedding prep, granted he’s since left but he was continually late, or on one occasion didn’t turn up at all. I did tell management this and because he’d left nothing was offered as compensation for the £100s I’d wasted being let down by an unreliable PT. In fact I was told they would look into it and then never heard again. Just not good enough I’m afraid, so I’ve decided to take my money elsewhere. The fee is more than I paid in London for a virgin gym. Complete exploitation.
