Thistle London Bloomsbury Park

I recently stayed at this hotel and it was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had. The value for money is absolutely nonexistent. They assign rooms on the 5th and 7th floors, yet the elevators have reportedly been out of service for at least two weeks. Carrying luggage up and down multiple floors was unacceptable for the price point.they are not offering help. Also their It system was down and we waited a lot at 2 am to go room. rooms shown online are clearly from the few renovated units, but the majority of the rooms are old, worn out, and far from clean. The carpets and curtains were stained and smelled unpleasant. There is no air conditioning, which is shocking for any modern hotel. The windows are like museum style wooden frames that barely open or close, letting in cold air and outside noise. Another strange detail is instead of providing complimentary water for all trouble, they started to sell the waters and removed the waters from rooms .The towels had no fresh scent and felt poorly maintained. The bed was extremely small, barely the size of a single bed, and not even stable. The base slides to the sides with the slightest movement, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. Overall, this hotel fails in all basic standards of comfort, cleanliness, and service. I would strongly advise future guests to avoid this place there are far better options in the same area for the same or even lower price. I wish I had seen an honest review before booking hopefully, this helps someone else

Nice hotel, very nice service, tasty breakfasts. Some of the rooms are in a very bad condition; very old windows- very hard to open, water leaking on the ceiling (moist and moldy ceiling), the shower faucet can barely be set to warm. Very hard to open and control the shower faucet.. My friends got better, newer room and were very satisfied. Nice location of the hotel.
