As a pub, this place is great. I really liked the beers and the staff was friendly and the food options seemed nice as well. But since I was a hostel guest primarily, I will base my rating on this experience. I stayed in a female dorm for three nights. The hostel in itself was... really not that good. Let's just say the restrooms down in the pub were cleaner than the toilets and wash rooms for the guests - which I found quite dubious. The showers were gross. The general cleanliness really leaves room for improvement. The room was okay and the bed was comfortable. The best part is the location since borough market is just a 3 minute walk. I really wish I could give 3 stars because I always feel bad when giving a bad review but it really wouldn't represent the reality.

The rooms were very little, not too clean but ok for the price. Showers and bathrooms were absolutely discusting!!! I've been staying in hostels for 20 years and that was one of the worst things I've seen. You had to wipe the things down before you put anything on you wanted to wear after showering. The floor of one shower was broken and another one comepletly out of order but for that you got a smell that made you almost throw up from the toilet that was in there. All in all NOT a great experience. At least the pub was nice and staff was very friendly.
