Snap Fitness Elephant & Castle 24 Hour Gym

EDIT: Nothing has been fixed since my original review, in fact, things have gotten worse. Now there are two treadmills not working. Really disappointing to see no progress. ORIGINAL: I have been a member here for some time, and while the staff are always friendly and helpful, I do feel the gym is being let down by management and maintenance. For the price we pay, I believe members should at least be able to count on the basics being taken care of. Several machines are frequently out of order for long periods (such as the adductor, one of the cables, and a treadmill). Instead of being replaced or properly repaired, they tend to go in and out of service. The lockers are also an issue, as many do not work or are left filled with belongings without locks, making it difficult to find space during busy hours. A stronger policy to manage this would be very helpful. In addition, the uneven flooring in the dumbbell weight area highlights the lack of maintenance and raises safety concerns. I understand this is not a high-end gym, but it would be great to see more consistent attention to these basic issues. There are other gyms nearby with newer equipment and sometimes even lower prices, but this location is convenient. With a bit more care and investment, it could provide a much better experience for everyone.

Edit 08/12: They promised a major refurbishment, but to my surprise the only things that were updated were the flooring and the lights. None of the equipment has been improved, and the treadmills and leg machines have been broken for months. I’ve raised this with management several times and nothing has been done. The only reason I still go is convenience. If I could, I’d give this gym zero stars. Please don’t waste your money here. Edit 26/10: The gym still hasn’t fixed the hip abduction machine, which has been broken for months. The cable machine was supposedly fixed but still doesn’t work properly, and now there’s another treadmill broken—so that’s **two out of roughly six** in total that are unusable. On top of that, there are uneven floor elevations near the dumbbell area and lockers that are either broken or permanently occupied without padlocks. I’ve raised these issues to the staff, and the response was, “It’s frustrating.” Well, it’s even more frustrating for those of us paying for a membership and getting a facility that’s constantly out of order. Honestly, I’m not sure what kind of management this gym has if nothing ever seems to get properly addressed. ____ OK gym overall. The equipment is basic, and some machines and a treadmill have been out of order for ages with no sign of being repaired. Considering the gym already has limited equipment, leaving things broken for so long really makes the experience frustrating.
