They don’t understand hygiene standards here at all. The floors of the locker room are absolutely filthy. As are the toilet areas. There’s infrequent cleaning. At the same time they request people not wear shoes in their disgusting 🤢 locker rooms. They do not understand that foot fungus spreads by NOT wearing shoes. Basic science. Everyone should have shoes ON until they reach the pool and the floors need frequent cleaning with anti bacterial products. The opposite of what they are doing. I refuse to walk in there in sandals or flip flops. The swimming classes are relatively useless as they teach kids in very shallow water where they can easily stand. That defeats the purpose entirely. People need to be confident in water they cannot easily stand in and also how to tread water effectively. Yes it’s cheap, but after a certain point it’s a waste of time. And we’ve had foot fungus 2 times on top of this 😡

I used to go here quite alot but since trying out the Brittania centre I now much prefer going there even though its much further. My 2 main issues with the gym are - 1. There is no water fountain you can actually drink from, you can only fill up your water bottle if you remember to bring one,. 2. The lockers, instead of having a combination lock panel you have to buy a £1.50 token which invariably ends up getting lost or swallowed/stuck in the machine. You then have to carry the key plus massive plastic attachment thing round with you (along with your water bottle if you've remembered one). These 2 issues mean that i never just spontaneously go in on my way back from work i always have to plan for a visit. So much hassle. Sort it out highbury.
