Fitness First The Strand

I was on holiday staying at the Resident across the street so this gym was very convenient. A super nice woman named June was working the front desk and she was very helpful getting me checked in. The gym was clean and the locker room was very nice and clean as well. I bought a day pass as I was traveling the next day. The cost was shocking! £25 for a single day pass! I pay this much at home for a month! I bit the bullet and paid it as I was commited due the the proximity of my hotel and lack of time to look for another gym. The gym was well furnished (machines, free weights, mats, etc) and the equipment was newer and in good shape. I worked out for 70 minutes and although it was a busy time (6:00pm), I was able to mostly get the equipment i needed when I wanted it. Plenty of benches and free weights available but machines quite busy. In addition to the cost, I wasn't pleased with the volume of the music. I could clearing hear the music from the ceiling mounted speakers the whole time even though I had earbuds in and my volume turned up high. Overall not a great experience.

This is a great gym! It’s well equipped, always clean and the staff are very kind and helpful, Irvine is always great. I also love that it has a female sauna in the shower areas, which makes this relaxing moment very comfortable. Special thanks to Talia, the best personal trainer ever!
