Energie Fitness - Bethnal Green

I have been an extremely loyal customer of Energie Fitness Bethnal Green for over 4 years. The gym closed with absolutely no warning. I echo what has been said in previous reviews about that. Very revealing to see how customer loyalty is rewarded. By closing so unexpectedly, all my gym equipment was left in the women's changing room. This includes a weight lifting belt, wrist straps, 4 resistance bands and a foam support. When will I be able to retrieve these items. So far all attempts to contact this company have been to no avail.

I’ve been a member at Energie Fitness for a while, and honestly, since the change in leadership and the new CEO came in, the standards have absolutely fallen off a cliff. The toilets and changing rooms are constantly filthy – it feels like they only bring in a cleaner once a week (if that). There’s almost never toilet paper or soap available. These are the absolute bare minimum essentials any gym should provide. The equipment situation is just as bad. Machines are out of order for weeks on end with no sign of repair. To make things worse, they’ve removed paper towels and antibacterial spray under the excuse of “reducing unnecessary waste.” Let’s call it what it is: cutting corners to save money at the expense of members’ hygiene. Removing paper towels I could understand, but taking away the spray? Are we supposed to magically disinfect the equipment with our towels alone? What a joke. On top of all that, loads of machines and weights have been taken out of the gym. I’m hoping it’s for the planned refurbishment, but right now it just feels like the place is being stripped down and neglected. And to top it off, the gym is constantly unstaffed. There’s rarely anyone around to help or maintain standards. Unless conditions improve after the refurbishment, I’ll be cancelling my membership. Right now, this gym is embarrassing compared to what it used to be.
