One of the weirdest experience we had at lakeside caravan park.Firstly a staff car parked in the drive when we arrive on Friday ,had to phone reception and staff moved the car. On Saturday we checked freezer and the draws were blocked full of ice and left a gap in the freezer door so phone reception again to report this and they fixed the problem and Saturday night the oven ignition wouldn't work either I had to phone park warden as the reception closed at 5pm and he said he will report in the morning so I phone the reception in the afternoon after we been out for the day and reception not heard nothing about the problem so I explained what happened they send the maintenance guy fixed it and he did thankfully and top of all of this the extractor fan on top was caked in dust and the shower room along the top there was mold quite a bit of it and the shower was not working properly either and this was Gold plus caravan and getting woken by next door caravan playing loud music in the van what was parked there and slamming doors on Saturday and Sunday morning. The living room window let in lot of air so we made sure that our 11 month granddaughter was nice and warm as well by doubling the blankets. It seems this caravan has not used been in long time by the experiences we had.

This is a lovely holiday park. We stayed in a lodge and if you are able to stretch, I would highly recommend. It comes with much more space than a caravan, wrap around decking and our lodge had 3 bathrooms which was great as 6 of us were staying here. The clubhouse is nice with beautiful views of the lakes. My 2 children (1 and 5 Yr) enjoyed watching all the birds. We didn't eat at the clubhouse, go swimming (which did look nice and not overcrowded) or make it to the entertainment as our Lodge was perfect for our needs. WiFi is available to purchase in the lodge and worth noting to check what time the shop opens - we went a few times and it was closed. The only thing I would say is unfortunately there were a few 'big kids' that were being a bit unruly in the play park, wrapping the swings over the bar and trying to break the play equipment, which was a shame. The reception team were really pleasant, all in all a lovely weekend break. I only gave a 4 star due to the support from Beth at Park Holidays Central team before we arrived. My 1yr old was in hospital (Mon - Wed) and we were due to arrive on the Friday. I emailed the support team to explain the situation and we were still hoping to make our holiday but if my little boy had to go into theatre we wouldn't be able to come. I asked in this circumstance, would it be possible to move the date. (Lodge is pricey and we had treated my parents so it was a special holiday for us) Beth said this couldn't be done and so we would basically have to loose the holiday if we didn't show. Beth's emails were unsympathetic and the holiday unfortunately wasn't a priority at that point due to the hospital situation but it put even more of a dampener on the worries that we were going through. It would of been nice if there was the support there from Park Holidays and opportunity to move the date, if my son had to of gone in for an operation. Thankfully he didn't have to and was feeling much more like himself come the weekend / holiday.
