PureGym Nottingham West Bridgford

Very clean, great new equipment, nice showers, loos. I liked the defribulator safety unit, the duty gym managers place overseeing things. Vibrant atmosphere and busy. Why wouldn't it be at prices starting £30 at month, great value. My only gripe is parking shared with shopper's going to nearby Aldi and a 2 hour limit, but apparently the gym have a way to extend that, not going to tell me when just visiting. The extra benefit, kill two birds with one stone with shopping after at a big Lidl and an Aldi about to open, plus a donut shop and chip shop/ restaurant, so you can quickly restore all those calories you just burnt off! Lol

Recently has gone 24/7, which is a welcome and long promised update. Parking. Private parking is always trying to screw you over. Always look for and read the signs. It’s always (up to time of writing) been free for 2 hours between 6am-10pm and 10 mins outside of that. If you’re staying longer you MUST enter your Reg number. Gym is well equipped, reasonably well laid out and PureGym is well priced and reflective of what you get. WiFi is the O2 one and needs a mobile number to verify. Showers have a real funk to them. Likely need a plumber to properly fix or how it traps or moves on body hair. Perfectly serviceable 20sec push button ones with fixed head/temp. Do I miss the ones at David Lloyd? Yes. Do I miss the dent in my bank account? No. Changing rooms themselves are clean, but a bit small and easily get too busy/cramped. Getting an RFID dongle for the barriers makes life easier, especially when attached to car keys (only way I get there so never forgotten). Never interacted with the staff. Never had the need, which I’m perfectly happy with. You need and mileage will vary. Feel this one is either safer or less targeted than Castle Marina, tried there once to find my locker padlock had been ‘tried’. And no, you don’t mistake the only bright yellow padlock for your own. This was Saturday day time. Suppose Wilford/Compton Acres is a nicer area… Really wish they had 7kW EV charging on site (Aldi’s over the road don’t count/work and BP Pulse are too fast) to top up while working out. And if their SM guys read this. Put an individual QR on each piece of equipment, that you can scan on the PureGym app to learn how to use or report broken. Will mean quicker reports (verified by staff on site) and visibility as to how long it takes to fix. No one thinks machines won’t break, but seeing you fix them quickly is the key. Think that’ll do.
