Decent place to work out. Has variety of machines and plenty of free weights. Has a good selection of leg machines, definetely more than the colwick pure gym. Has a spin/cycling area I noticed. Machines seem to be maintained to a good standard. On the down side, feels a bit claustrophobic, closed off and generally less looked after and alive than some other pure gyms like colwick. But not much can be done due to no windows, except lighting adjusted and atmosphere or layout changed. The male changing rooms are decent. Why is there tons of locks left on lockers? More than there are people in the gym, make it a rule to periodically cut them off and bin them. Another nice touch would be a hard floor or two for deadlifts and squats rather than soft rubber flooring.

I’ve been to lots of pure gyms over the years and this had to be the one with the poorest experience overall Cleanliness is a huge issue in both toilets/showers and on the gym floor - the toilets/sinks constantly smell of drains - even after nearly 3 weeks of work earlier this year. The rules which are clearly displayed are not enforced - staff wearing Crocs/sliders - gym goers being barefoot ect. The gym is over crowded with equipment- you advertise ‘new equipment’ however my experience is that it’s made the gym worse. The small stretch area has been ruined by numerous bits of equipment - meaning there is nowhere to stretch or use the small 1-10kg weights safely at peak times. You are alienating a large audience by limiting what space is available here. The gym is in a prime location and could be very good but the cleanliness and layout need to be looked at - also members need to be held to account for the rules by staff/ managers
