There are plenty of shaded grassy areas with BBQs, picnic tables, and playgrounds, so it’s easy to spend an entire afternoon without needing to leave. The walking paths along the beach are great for a casual stroll or bike ride, and it’s also very dog-friendly — seeing happy dogs running along the sand adds to the atmosphere. The facilities are excellent compared to many other beaches: you’ve got change rooms, showers, and a nearby café if you feel like grabbing a coffee or bite to eat. Parking is usually manageable, and the whole area feels safe and welcoming. Sunsets here are incredible too — the sky lights up over the water and it’s a perfect way to end the day.

Awesome spot to relax any day...very similar to Melbourne's Elwood beach. Loads of dog walkers and kids in lower section. This siphons off to yoga, cafes and amenities in top end. Close to regular buses on South Terrace which depart Freo Station.
