I have been a long time patron of Waves, but the recent, inexplicable decision to cut the number of male showers by nearly half is absolutely unacceptable and has ruined the experience. Before this change, the male changing room had a manageable number of showers. Now, with the number reduced drastically, there are constantly long queues. This is causing genuine friction and arguments between patrons who are rightly frustrated, tired, and just want to clean up and go home. The atmosphere is genuinely hostile sometimes, all because of poor facilities management. What makes this decision worse is that the female changing rooms have retained their 10 showers. Cutting the male facilities down while keeping the female facilities fully operational feels discriminatory and poorly planned. It sends a clear message that the comfort and convenience of male patrons is considered secondary. Patrons pay good money so expect basic, functional amenities. Until Waves restores the male shower capacity to its original number, or at least provides an equitable solution, I cannot recommend this centre. The current situation is an embarrassment and the management team should feel ashamed.

Your response to Mark Smits omitted exactly why the removal of half the men’s showers improves privacy and security and I think we deserve an explanation, as mark has a valid point. As for ‘best practice’? , how can the reduction of showers count be deemed to be best practice, so what was the real reason for doing this?
