BIG4 Melbourne Holiday Park

We've stayed at the Big4 Coburg in the past and the location is fantastic. Within walking distance to shops and a tram ride into the CBD, it's an ideal spot to relax and explore Melbourne. The only downside this trip was that the ladies' shower block had a bit of a water issue. Apart from that, the pool was pristine, camp kitchen was immaculate with fresh tea towels and cleaning cloths, and the sites were very generous. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed twice. First time beginning of December. They drained the pool and we were not able to use it during our three nights stay. I asked the first day we arrived if it would be ready the next day and they confirmed, but in the end it wasn't. No notice given. Amenities were being renovated. What was really annoying was our second stay and it was mainly thanks to one fussy lady at reception. Upon arrival she asked to see my husband who booked our stay. I had his passport with me but she still demanded to see him in person. Did not happen the first time we checked in here. Next, I was using the laundry and one of the washing machines came up with an error after I paid. So went back to reception to ask for a refund and use a different machine. That same lady told me she could only give a refund once she had seen our bank statement. I showed her the transaction, which said approved, not pending or canceled. In the end I did not bother to go back again with our bank statements and simply popped our washing into a different machine. That is not the way to make customers or to keep them. Sites are rather small due to location. Lots of cars parked on street or blocking pathways. Kitchen has induction, lots of people including ourselves experiencing issues as only few pots/pans work. On our second stay amenities were open again and looked quite nice, showers were not hot, though. The ensuite amenities do not have enough hooks or shelves but hot water
