Big 4 Kryal Castle Holiday Park - Ballarat

We went for a long weekend tent camping, the site was plenty big enough for a 10p tent and Tarp shelter plus our suv. There is no play equipment or spaces for kids to play, just be aware if you're travelling with kids. But you might be able to access the castle to play on their equipment, just not as convenient if you need little people to buzz off for a few minutes as you need to accompany them. The bathrooms are small but clean and quite new. They have powerpoints which was good as i brought my hair-dryer. The lights and fan are on a timer so they kept turning off while we showered but that wasn't too bad. The camp kitchen is basic; fridge/freezer, microwave, single sink, stove and oven. Minimal bench space and small kitchen so i wouldn't want to try and use it at a busy time, you'd be waiting hours. We packed our own stove and small appliances, using only the sink late at night to do dishes when everyone was gone. There was also a bbq on the deck at the lichen too. No cutlery, a few utensils and no crockery for campers to use so bring what you need. It was super quiet when we were there, but it seemed to be popular with caravans and campervans. The staff were lovely, really helpful and assisted with a few booking issues we had. Kryal castle on the door step made for a great day out and an easy walk to the tent.

We arrived after 5pm and followed instructions to collect the keys for our cabin, easy. The cabin was very cold and despite heater , on for whole night never reached a really warm temperature . As the heater is high on the wall I suspect a lot of heat went out through the ceiling . A big disappointment was there were No extra Blankets . We had to use bath towels and our coats on the bed to try to get warm . There's also no hair-dryer in the bathroom ! All the above being said . The staff are so pleasant, helpful and happy to chat about Castle and local places to visit. We very much enjoyed the castle and all within and in spring or summer will try to visit again, maybe bring family too.
