Nightcap at Hotel Victor

Excellent location to stay whilst visiting Victor Harbor. Chris went out of his way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Rain shower head in bathroom was dreamy. Room was comfy with great views. Easy walk to many shops and sights from location. Off-street parking for guests. Would stay again.

Update: I had written my review on the first night staying at the Night Cap and had used my room's amenities e.g Monsoon shower, heating etc which were both excellent and the room was clean. I went down to dinner and the food was great. Unfortunately my room was next to the main entrance part of the hallway which led to the rooms of the hotel, so I heard noise throughout the night and early in the morning there was a fire alarm, so we all had to leave the building, some of us left our room in our pyjamas, the firebrigade came at some point and there seemed to be no fire. I have updated my 5 star rating to 3 stars mostly because the staff did not communicate very much about what was going on during the fire safety evacuation procedures - because there was no staff initially, the guests had to evacuate by themselves initially, and some of us stood outside in the cold in our pyjamas waiting for the staff to arrive. When the staff eventually did, they didn't say alot. The guests had to ask probing questions to get any communication out of the staff. It should be understood by the staff that the guests are concerned for their belongings when these fire evacuation procedures happen that is why guests want the staff to be proactive in communication and not expect the guests to initiate communication about the situation. One of the guests told me this was there second fire alarm evacuation during their stay. I may stay here again but a lot would have to improve, mainly soundproofing rooms or putting signs in the hallways telling guests not to yell and raise their voice in the hallways for the sake of other guests in their rooms and there would need to be an assurance of better fire safety training for their staff. Due to this experience I do not think the rate is worth it, because the experience was stressful for a two night stay. Earlier review: Superb food, friendly hotel and pub staff, clean rooms, great monsoon shower, worth the hotel rate, and yes close to the harbour, galleries, cafes and shopping mall, and the historic Cockle train, if you are ever in the area or travelling around this area, it is worth a stay.
