I chose Aspen Holidays Adelaide Caravan Park because they advertise as pet-friendly (with a hefty pet fee, I might add), and I was traveling with my two cats. What a huge mistake. The cabin itself was outdated, and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable – my cats refused to settle on them at all and spent most of the time on the floor or furniture instead. But the real nightmare was the state of cleanliness, or lack thereof. The provided kitty litter was the cheapest black-and-gold stuff imaginable, and it looked like it hadn’t been changed or topped up in weeks – absolutely disgusting and unusable. My cats were horrified and basically held it in until we could get proper supplies. Worst of all, the cabin and surrounding park grounds were overrun with mice. My cats spent the entire stay in full hunting mode, chasing rodents around the cabin at all hours, under the beds, in the kitchen area, and even outside in the park. It was chaotic, stressful, and frankly revolting. This level of rodent presence points to serious sanitation issues – if mice are running rampant, what else is lurking? For a place that charges extra for pets and claims to be welcoming to them, they clearly haven’t put any thought into maintaining a clean, pest-free environment. The location near the CBD is convenient, but that’s about the only positive. I won’t be returning, and I strongly advise anyone traveling with pets (or anyone who values hygiene) to look elsewhere. Absolute letdown.

While the cabin was quite compact, and perhaps a bit expensive for its size, there were a few other issues during our 3-night stay. We didn't receive any follow-up from staff to check on our experience or to offer fresh towels. The bathroom was notably small making it difficult to use, and we found the door lock was non-functional due to a missing strike plate. The bunk beds were not the greatest, with thin mattresses on what appeared to be homemade wooden frames. We experienced a-lot of discomfort, even after combining mattresses. Some of the linen was dirty and couldn’t be used. The music festival during our stay created significant noise from teen concertgoers. The park seemed to be at full capacity, with tents pitched in unusual spots, like between cabins and in parking spaces, and some cabins appeared to be over-occupied. The laundry facilities were also problematic, with many machines out of service. One machine left a brown residue on our clothes, requiring a second wash. We had to resort to using a laundromat 3 minutes away, due to the limited availability and a significant delay caused by unattended laundry by other guests. Overall, while we appreciate the park's location, we feel that some improvements in maintenance and guest services are required urgently. I would not recommend or stay again.
