The walk along the strand is a lovely experience, specially in the evening. Seems to be one of the happening places in Townsville. The scenic beauty is just awesome with the lovely beach and magnetic Island visible in the distance. There are a lot of relaxed cafes along the way and very good public amenities.

A relatively safe place to go swimming and escape the heat, usually patrolled by lifeguards. Townsville doesn't have the nicest water, it's not usually clear, and unless there is a cyclone nearby we don't get any real waves, none of that is the fault of the Stinger Net.
