The whole experience was just a bit odd. From check in, we waited at the bar downstairs for 10 minutes before the manager showed up to show us to our room. It felt a bit strange and as if the bartender was annoyed at the manager for keeping us waiting. The check in process consists of a thorough explanation of facial recognition law as the front door is unlocked by scanning your face. The manager was nice and friendly. The room was spacious and beds were comfortable. I don't think the bathroom had been cleaned as the toilet seat was up, there were a few hairs in the sink and the shower floor had rubbish on it. There was also a smell of vomit and bleach. Some of the other clientele are... interesting. It was less a backpacker vibe and more halfway house. We were woken up very early by what sounded like a wild bore going ballistic down the corridor. I still don't know what it was, my guess would be someone rattling the metal shutters of the managers office. Free breakfast was appreciated, it's mainly cereal packets and tea/coffee. There are also some deals on food downstairs at the bar. Location is good as it's just down from the beach. We got a twin room which is advertised as having a parking space, but it's actually just parking at the bottle shop which is first come first serve. Luckily we were able to get a space after a few hours but would have been annoying to pay for on street parking. Overall just a very strange vibe.
