Great place to stay at for a couple of days. Two day camping permits required from the TCC. Exercise equipment provided as are excellent clean well maintained amenities. Stinger nets are used during the stinger months and swimming is great at the moment (June). It is a shame that the Fisherman's Landing cafe closed and now in a state of disrepair as it once sold great food to the campers and locals.

Balgal Beach camp ground is small. It only accommodates about 8 to 10 camping bays. It is a beautiful location close to the beach and the mouth of the river. It has toilets but no showers. It is a free camp site but you have to book with the shire. There are shelters in the park with tables, chairs, and BBQ facilities. But the midges are terrible so you need to protect yourself.
