I'm leaving a review from the perspective of an average gymgoer. If you do a bodybuilding style of training you will have everything you need. The amenities are very clean, and all the equipment is brand new so it's hard to complain about that. However, I do have a lot of criticisms from a powerlifter/weightlifter perspective, and some general criticisms. Some of these are easily rectified, some not so much. - There are 5 half racks, yet no olympic lifting/deadlifting platform?? There is currently nowhere to deadlift except for the normal gym floor - In front of the racks toward the back of the building the floor is extremely un-level, so your barbell will just roll into the racks when you set it down - Despite being massively over-provisioned on bumper plates (seriously, they spent tens of thousands on bumper plates that will never get used. 40 5kg plates, 48 10kg plates, 48 20kg plates) there is not one single 1.25kg plate, so make sure you BYO or your progression sensitive lifts will suffer - No EZ Curl bar for the preacher station - I assume this will be rectified soon and they are just waiting - No specialty bars whatsoever. I assumed there would be a safety squat bar, but alas I have to do my current lower body routine at home. Trap bar and Swiss bar wouldn't go astray either. - None of the short back upright benches which are great for tricep extensions All in all, good work on the launch team, I do really enjoy my upper body days there. I also like that there's only one giant screen, and I'm not being constantly bombarded with news about machete attacks etc
