Nice outdoor pool with friendly localz. Yesterday was code brown that meant pool down, in all my time that was the first time that happened, except no tangible refund. I took swimming up slowly but here it is easy to spend a day. Small gym with bare essentials. More a place for cardio enthusiasts than anything else. Memberships available and affordable.

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart. Victoria Park Pool has long been one of my favourite public pools in Sydney, which is saying something given the many great options. However...recent changes to the pools heating system have been a disaster and left many regular pool users (including myself) in dismay. The main 50m pool is now regularly over 28-29 degrees Celsius, which is very uncomfortable for normal recreational use and borderline dangerous for those using it for serious swim / squad training. I personally come out of the pool sweating profusely and red faced after swimming my usual 2-3kms. My heart rate is elevated beyond my normal training range and performance reduced. My online research of leading swim associations (e.g. USA Swimming) is that public training pools should not exceed 27 degrees, but ideally be closer to 24 - 26 degrees. Higher pool temperatures above these levels can lead to dehydration, overheating and other health risks. I'm not alone in this feeling, many regular users have shared similar distress with me at how hot the pool is. It’s now easily the hottest pool in Sydney (IMV). I've tried to raise this with the Victoria Park centre management staff many times, but there are no signs they are taking this seriously - which is disappointing. None I've spoken to sound interested or appear to see this as a real issue. In summer, our community needs relief from the heat and a safe place to swim/train. Please listen to our feedback and take some action.
