I am clueless as to how this is a 4 star hotel, but perhaps it shouldn't be open while it is an active construction site. Maybe the joke is on me for staying here in the off season? I am luckily an early bird, but from 7am onward there was hammering and loud drilling directly below or above me (difficult to discern considering how loud it was). It will probably be a quieter stay in a couple of months in the warmer season since it's a popular neighborhood for the beach, but this was not a positive experience overall. I tried to call to complain about the noise and the number provided didn't work, plus the lobby didn't open until 9am - so there wasn't much I could do... if i didn't have to pack to leave, I would've gone elsewhere. Also the bathroom needed significant updating, lots of flooding from showering and using the sink (really), the handles in the shower were falling off. So if you just need a place to sleep, the bed is great. The rest needed some TLC. Pictured is the ceiling in the hallway leading to my room, it is falling off. I travel a lot for work and I’m generally not someone to write a review like this, but I cannot stress enough what a mistake staying here was. It really soured the end of a lovely three weeks in Australia, most of which was spent in Sydney.

The music in the restaurant below is very loud. The rooms are not serviced, so don’t plan on a long stay if you would like to stay in a clean room. Also found several cockroaches. You have to grab your own towels, coffee, etc. from lockers on your floor. No customer service at all.
