My partner and I both have monthly deep tissue massages, due to the physical nature of our respective jobs, by a therapist who comes to our home. During a recent visit to Sydney, we impulsively decided to have a more relaxing treatment but specifically wanted a Reflexology Foot Massage. Being joined by fellow travellers meant that the place we originally booked couldn't accommodate the four of us together so decided to go to Manly as planned and 'see how the day takes us'. On our wonder around Manly we came across Siamese Thai Massage and went in to negotiate how the needs of four patrons travelling together could best be met. Wanting two treatments each my partner and I went in first. We asked for an oil body massage and asked if the foot massage was a reflexology foot massage. They confirmed that it was so paid for both treatments. We were shown to two adjoining rooms downstairs with an open sliding door to facilitate access between them. The rooms appeared well equipped and clean. There was therapeutic value in the massage but left with some concerns. Having not experienced a Reflexology Foot Massage before, I didn't know what to expect. I heard my partner asking questions during this treatment and the answers made it readily apparent that neither therapist even knew what Reflexology was let alone action an effective treatment. So we were cleared duped into paying for a treatment that wasn't as requested. We do not tolerate such deception from any kind of business. My other concerns were with borderline or questionable inappropriate bodily contact. Areas of the body were massaged that aren't usually massaged by our own therapist. So, after our treatments, we both compared notes. We both received 'therapy' on our 'gluteus maximus' so accepted that as valid. However, my partner didn't receive an over concentration of the top of the leg area. Only I received that 'treatment'. My top inner thigh was 'extensively' massaged. The therapist also did things like caressing my ear and face (not in a massage sense). My partner also noted that the sliding door had been pushed shut during our session. We were, on occassion, conversing through the open door and we're clearly together so the there was no reason to shut the door for 'privacy' reasons, especially given that it remained open while we undressed in preparation for our treatments. I heard my partner ask to remove the towel from over her eyes. Mine remained in place so was oblivious to the door being shut. I don't consider myself to be a naive person. I'm fully aware of the kind of things that go on in some massage venues, especially in the Sydney area. So I've drawn two possible explanations to the questionable bodily contact as described above. 1. The therapist genuinely took a shine to me (unprofessional at best) or, 2. It was attempt to get me in a state of arousal so that 'other' services couldn't be offered. Having never engaged the services of a sex worker or massage therapist who performs such duties, I couldn't comment on which were true but will say this, the 'professional' relationship between a therapist and client was breached (at best). The number of stars given in this review is based on the therapeutic value of the treatments and the cleanliness of the premises based on what I witnessed viruses the deliberate deception regarding the Reflexology treatment (or lack thereof). The text above are facts as I know them but acknowledge that my opinions and interpretations on what I experienced are based on some assumptions and the comparison between two people receiving the same treatment at the same time by two different therapists. I make no accusations of any kind and I'll allow you to draw your own conclusions. UPDATE: As requested, we visited at approximately 1330 on Monday 10 Nov 25. Two people initially.
