My issues with the gym are different and just about actually using it rather than payments. It’s largely about the culture of not putting plates away, leaving equipment all over the place which includes in front of escape doors and the attitude of the members that is enabled there by the staff not enforcing return of equipment in any way at all. It’s an ingrained culture and will not change. It’s inconvenient and even dangerous in terms of trip hazards and manual handling. These photos attached, were taken in just one visit. 1: Heavy plates go on the pegs highest on equipment. This should be obvious why and it’s marked on equipment any way. 2: Plates, bars, attachments are left al over the place. It’s like a naughty child’s play area and you better believe they cry when you tell them to put their toys away. 3: The pegs for the leg press don’t hold many plates so you’ll have to spend like 10min finding plates unless you take them from the squat racks. Plus people just pile them next to the equipment. So coupled with these numerous comments about payment ethics and inconsistent staff presence, Myaree is in need of making corrective actions as they clearly are attracting a low customer satisfaction score in these areas. I’m not obliged to use the compliment sandwich model here however I will say in general I’ve found the equipment to be adequate and or satisfactory. The steam and sauna are in good condition considering their nature and age and the same goes with the men’s change room. It is the aforementioned, culture and lack of effort in making corrections that I find unacceptable and contradictory to their own policies and I don’t need to be paying to be putting myself in that environment. I don’t see these problems changing so my solution is to just go somewhere else.

They might have been a change of management at this gym. Their customer service used to be good, but it has deteriorated since the front desk has been staffed with new faces. My credit card was cancelled due to unauthorised transactions. I informed the front desk of this a day before the scheduled deduction. The representative who took this information told me it is too late to stop any deduction now. She mailed me later in the day to ask an alternative account for deduction. I did not get a chance to read this email until it was too late. I was then charge a $10 late fee. I called Goodlife to request for a fee waiver as this was not the first time my card had to be cancelled due to unauthorised transaction. On the previous occasion, I wasn't charge da late fee as they were informed prior to deduction date. Not this time. The representative whom I spoke to gave me a number to call to make the request. I found that weird. I did not have to do that the last time I had to cancel my credit card. I did anyway. I was told by the other company that since I had already informed Goodlife of the cancellation a day prior to deduction date, I should get back to Goodlife to ask for waiver. He also let me know a day notice is sufficient to stop the deduction. This sound reasonable to me plus the membership contract was between Goodlife and me. Why do I have to call another company? I could be wrong, but isn't front desk all about customer service? Why did she has to lie that a day notice is insufficient to stop deduction? This club has zero customer service. The front desk is staffed by a lady that tried to weasel her way out of making a phone call. The toilet and recreation zone (steam and sauna) need a good deep clean. the floor in the shower cubicle and the steam room is slimy and the floor drains in these area definitely needs a thorough clean. Our membership fee and the club's customer service and cleanliness seems to move in opposite direction. They are lots of other options which offer value for money, but I have been a member for close to 10 years now. I just need to get out of my comfort zone and explore other options. But, for those that are considering Goodlife, think twice
