I went to FF Spring St and Westfield for years but have left the city. I’m back in town so thought I’d see if it’s improved. It has not. If I had to describe this gym with an Australian rock band, it would be Crowded House. It’s more overcrowded than ever and the change rooms are still filthy. The equipment has improved but that’s no use if I have to wait ages to use it. I went at 3pm on a Sunday, which is normally pretty quiet but it was bedlam. I can only imagine what it’s like during peak hours and I do not wish to find out. It’s a nightmare getting benches, racks or machines. The clientele is like the cast of Love Island if it was just blokes. Despite the overcrowding, these guys just hog machines while scrolling on their phones doing three sets of Instagram. Terrible gym culture and etiquette. If I still lived in the area, I would avoid it like the plague - if a plague doesn’t spread from the men’s change room first. Probably better off going to Anytime or Virgin in Bondi Junction. Pilates is actually decent value but is constantly booked out. Have had better luck going to George and Park St in the city. Have also had bad experiences trying to cancel my membership with them before. They said I’d have to fly from Melbourne to Sydney to cancel my it, like some sort of business trip to cancel my gym membership 💀You also have to give four weeks notice to cancel your membership. That’s a longer notice period than for quitting my job. Fitness First, I don’t work for you champ, I am your customer. Only reason I’m still with them is because there are a couple of decent ones near me in Melb. Hope they turn the Bondi establishment around because it’s in shambles.

This place is vile!!!!!! . The second you walk in, the stench hits you — sweat, body odor, damp towels, and whatever else is festering in the hallways specifically the staircase too. It’s enough to make you feel sick. I genuinely had to hold my breath walking through. Everywhere you look, people are dripping in sweat, leaving sweat all over the equipment, and no one wipes anything down. The machines are sticky, the mats are filthy, and the whole place feels like it hasn’t been properly cleaned in months. I don’t know how this place is still open. This place needs to be shut down at this point, It’s unhygienic, overcrowded, and completely neglected. Every visit makes me feel dirtier than before I went in. And to top it all off, the staff were unbelievably rude — completely dismissive, uninterested, and downright disgusting in the way they spoke to me. Don’t waste your money here when there are so many other gyms that will provide you a quality environment. I also saw people walking in without even tapping their cards where is the regulations to ensure people are members??
